Just less than two months following the fatal shooting of Young Dolph, the two suspected shooters have been arrested in connection to the Memphis rapper’s murder.
FOX13 Memphis reports 23-year-old Justin Johnson was found in Indiana on Tuesday (Jan. 11) and taken into custody to face multiple charges including first degree murder. The second gunman, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, was also arrested and charged for first degree murder.
Last week, a warrant was issued for Johnson by the Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation (TBI), U.S. Marshals, and the Memphis Police Department. Johnson was on TBI’s most wanted list and has a long history with the law including a triple shooting in 2017.
After his warrant was issued, Johnson, a Memphis rapper who goes by the name of Straight Drop, took to his social media handle to announce he was turning himself in, but he never surrendered. He also recently shot a music video at a home where police discovered a white Mercedes that police believe was the getaway car used in Dolph’s murder.
On November 17, 2021, Young Dolph was shot and killed while inside a Memphis bakery after two men opened fire. He was 36.
