Da Brat has echoed Ray J’s sentiment that straight men need to offer more support to the LGBTQ+ community, telling TMZ Live ,alongside her wife Judy Dupart, that she admired Ray J’s passion.
“Yeah I think when Ray J’s passionate about something he speaks on it and I’m not mad at him and I kinda appreciate him for speaking out and saying how he feels. Like, shout out everybody, you shouldn’t discriminate. Like if somebody you know and love is gay and they’re doing something great shout em out give ’em their flowers too. Why not? We’re human, we’re all human.”
When asked if Ray J’s attitude can spur some real change, Da Brat was hesitant to say.
“I don’t think Ray J is gonna affect some change you know,” she said. “Maybe if [Snoop Dogg] said it. You know Snoop has more people of different genres and people all over the world know Snoop, but it may affect some change in people that respect Ray J. But you know, I think a lot of these OG’s out here would respect somebody else saying it too but I think it definitely helps.”
In honor of Pride, Ray J hopped on Instagram Live on Monday (June 6) to offer a 12-minute rant about how straight men don’t show enough love to the Queer community.
