DMC Joins Public Enemy Legends For New Supergroup FREEDOM

DMC links with Public Enemy legends to form FREEDOM, a new supergroup dropping “I’m On Your Side” May 15.

DMC just linked up with two Public Enemy legends to form something that’s been missing for way too long – some good political Hip-Hop.

The new supergroup FREEDOM, featuring DMC, DJ Johnny Juice, and Brian Hardgroove, is dropping their debut single “I’m On Your Side” on May 15, and it’s not just another track.

This is a direct response to a world that’s lost its way, a sonic middle finger to corruption and the erosion of truth.

The three artists bring serious credentials to the table. DMC’s been defining Hip-Hop since Run-DMC changed everything, while Juice and Hardgroove spent decades at the core of Public Enemy, helping shape politically conscious rap into an art form.

Now they’re combining forces to create a group that bridges rock, Hip-Hop, and activism in ways that feel urgent and necessary.

“I’m On Your Side” is built for a moment when democracy feels under siege and freedom’s becoming a luxury.

The song captures what it means to reclaim your voice when truth itself is contested territory.

It’s a rallying cry for people who refuse to stay silent, wrapped in a rhythm that’s impossible to ignore. The message is clear: together, freedom exists. Separately, we’re screwed.

The music video was shot in New York in a single day, directed by Simon Kinney of Synergy Group Productions, whose portfolio includes work with Pink, Metallica, and Ed Sheeran.

An additional shoot happened in Santa Fe with co-director Zay Santos.

The result is a visual that matches the song’s intensity and urgency. FREEDOM’s also launching a community platform where fans can connect directly with the group’s message and grab exclusive merchandise as part of the official launch.
