Tributes to Takeoff have continued to pour in following the Migos rapper’s tragic death.
Takeoff (real name Kirsnik Khari Ball) was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Tuesday (November 1), sending shockwaves through the Hip Hop community.
The 28-year-old was among a group of people — which also included his uncle and Migos groupmate Quavo — watching a dice game when an altercation broke out and shots were fired.
Takeoff was reportedly struck “either in the head or near the head” and was pronounced dead at the scene by police. Two other victims were taken to the hospital, while Quavo was unharmed.
Gucci Mane, Killer Mike, Joe Budden, Lloyd Banks and Boosie Badazz were among the horde of Hip Hop figures who mourned Takeoff’s sudden passing on social media.
But as the sad news continued to sink in on Tuesday, more tributes to the late Migos lyricist poured in from the likes of Drake, Future, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz and others.
“I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch,” Drizzy wrote on Instagram next to a photo of him sharing the stage with Takeoff. “That’s what I’ll focus on for now [sad face emoji] rest easy space man Take.”

It goes without saying that I’m broken hearted and confused this morning. But I have to say Take is a one of a kind friend that would always acknowledge you, always make sure you was good and would always tell you keep God first. Yes he was underrated, but fuck the music…. He was a genuine good person, with a kind heart.
