French Montana Unveils Custom Rolex Watch Design: ‘This Ain’t Regular’

French Montana has partnered with Skeleton Concepts for a unique Rolex collaboration celebrating his Moroccan roots.

The Bronx, New York native recently unveiled his brand new skeletonized Rolex Daytona 116520 concept timepiece on Instagram. The unique design boasts a green Sapphire bezel, twice circled subdials in anthracite gray and red, and red custom-made tachymetric scale engravings and hands.

The red and green color palette is a nod to the flag of Morocca, where French was born and raised, while the Arabic numeral digits on the 12-hour subdial also honor his North African heritage.

Only 60 copies of the watch have been made, with two colorways available: one with a satin-brushed Oyster steel bracelet with polished sides and another in a Carbon forged case and a black strap Nylon.

“MANN this ain’t regular,” French wrote on Instagram. “JUST DROPPED MY own skeletonized Rolex Daytona 116520 timepiece is out now ! Only 60 made ! French spoke more about the watch on Skeleton Concepts’ Instagram page, explaining the custom Rolexes are more than just watches to him as he plans on passing them down to his son, Kruz Kharbouch.

“This exceptional timepiece is a meaningful piece of jewelry,” he said. “Skeleton Concept’s work is impeccable. My named concept is original, colorful and precise. Owning such a watch is having a piece of eternity on your wrist. A meaningful jewelry to one day give to my son.”

French Montana’s watch will go nicely with the new diamond plaque he received last week after his 2017 hit “Unforgettable” featuring Swae Lee surpassed 10 million sales in the U.S. He’s both the first African-born artist and first male artist from the South Bronx to go diamond.

The Coke Boys capo celebrated with a get-together with family and friends, where Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone shared a few words about his huge accomplishment.

“This doesn’t happen every day,” Rhone said, standing next to French who was holding up the massive plaque. “This only happens when you have a special song, and you have a special team behind you and, most of all, a special artist.”
