Kodak Black’s lawyer has broken down the difference between Gunna and 6ix9ine’s respective plea deal, reaffirming the idea that the YSL rapper hasn’t technically snitched in the way that his rainbow-haired rap peer did.
Bradford Cohen took to Instagram this week to issue a detailed response to the slew of questions he’s been receiving in the wake of Gunna’s recent Alford plea, which found him pleading guilty to one racketeering conspiracy charge in the YSL RICO case to secure his release from jail.
The DS4Ever rapper is one of several YSL members who have taken plea deals, which experts believe only strengthens the prosecution’s case against Young Thug, who they allege is the leader of the “criminal street gang.”
As for 6ix9ine, he notoriously cooperated with federal authorities back in 2020 to convict numerous members of New York’s Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Despite apologizing for his “snitching” ways, the “Gummo” rapper has adamantly stood by his decision to testify against his co-defendants.
“I have been getting an enormous amount of DMs asking my opinion on Gunna vs 69 comparison,” Cohen wrote. “It’s interesting, but in my opinion different scenarios. First I don’t judge what a Def does in their own interest. That’s their business. You can decide if you FW them or not and that’s your decision. Some people believe any snitching is snitching.”
He continued: “In Gunna’s case his plea only effects the defense of [Young Thug] if he was to blame Gunna for drugs in the car. Other than that the statement doesn’t come into a trial. Now vs. 69. That was full on testifying against co def and against others in the industry. Again, not saying what’s right or wrong, but there is a distinct difference in the 2 situations. What do you think…is any snitching snitching?”
