Kanye West ‘Donda’ Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard 200 Charts

Kanye West is back on top as his tenth solo album Donda has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. It is now currently the biggest sales week of 2021.

In its first week, Donda moved 309,000 equivalent album units with 37,000 of the sum in traditional album sales. 272,000 of its SEA units equates to 357.39 million on-demand streams of its 27 tracks.

Donda becomes Kanye’s 10th chart-topping solo album. His previous were Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreaks (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), his collaborative album with JAY-Z, Watch The Throne (2011), Yeezus (2013), The Life Of Pablo (2016), Ye (2018), and Jesus Is King (2019).

Kanye is also now one of the seven artists in Billboard history to have 10 No. 1s. He joins The Beatles (19), JAY-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), Barbra Streisand (11), Eminem (10), Elvis Presley (10) and West.

In addition, two of the songs make its debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard 100 singles charts including “Hurricane” featuring Lil Baby and The Weeknd at No. 6 and the JAY-Z-assisted “Jail” debuting at No. 10.

After countless delays and a chaotic rollout, Donda was finally released on Sunday, August 29. The 27-track LP also boasts collaborations from KiD CuDi, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, Young Thug, Jay Electronica, The Lox, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and more.
