Lil Nas X is gearing up to release the follow-up to his debut album Montero, and he recently let fans in on some details during an impromptu Q&A.
On Monday (February 20), the “Old Town Road” rapper decided to respond to a few fans on Twitter who were inquiring about when they’d get some new music – as September will make two years since his last album. With good news in tow, Nas informed them that they’d be getting something pretty soon, as well as what they can expect.
When he was asked if he could make another sad song, Lil Nas X revealed, “I didn’t make many of those i been too happy lately.”
Though he didn’t give any sort of tracklist, nor could he confirm how many songs it would be, he did reveal that his Saucy Santana collaboration, “Down Souf Hoes,” will live on the sophomore effort – despite having previously been leaked.
“idk [how many tracks],” he added. “i love so many songs plus i’m still in the studio making music so it’s gone be hard to pick.”
As far as when to expect it, Lil Nas X said “most likely summer” – but there are still some details to sort out.
“it’s mostly planning now,” he said. “i could easily just release music but i have to build moments around this shit. i have to go bigger than before!”
