Meek Mill Accuses Atlantic Records Of 'Raping Him' Out Of Roddy Ricch Management

Meek Mill hasn’t been shy about touching on the issues he’s had with Atlantic Records, and he unleashed on his record label with a scathing Twitter rant on Tuesday afternoon (February 1).

Meek claims Atlantic has made over $100 million on him and still doesn’t give him the freedom to drop music when he wants. The Philly native also took aim at his record company for cutting him out of managing Roddy Ricch when he was behind bars (Roddy is signed to Atlantic), which he says is similar to the tactics they used to try to hurt the MMG relationship between Meek and Rick Ross.

“So look I made Atlantic records 100’s of millions and let them rape me out out Roddy a artist they came to me about in jail … they still saying I can’t drop music until 9 months after my last album got blackballed,” he began.

Roddy Ricch and Meek have collaborated on numerous occasions on tracks such as “Letter to Nipsey,” “Splash Warning” and Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial‘s “Peta.”

The Dreamchasers CEO wants other artists to speak up about the alleged bogus business practices from labels to help the next generation avoid some of the same issues he’s had to deal with.

He also claimed Atlantic Records didn’t pour any cash into his Expensive Pain project and they’re not allowing him to drop an album for nine months once he’s officially out of his deal with the label.

They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions ….. how would can anybody survive that … most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies “ I don’t”

In late 2021, Rick Ross quelled concerns that there was no beef between him and the “Burn” rapper while he believed the jabs in question were directed to Atlantic Records.

Meek has dropped five albums on Atlantic after signing to the label in 2011 and it sounds like his next LP could be his last project with AR. Expensive Pain arrived on October 1, 2021 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

Atlantic Records offered up a “no comment” as their official response to the allegations when contacted by HipHopDX.
