Mello Buckzz Thrown In Jail With No Bail After Stolen Glock Found In Her Vehicle

Mello Buckzz is facing serious weapons charges after police discovered a loaded stolen handgun beneath her car seat during a Southwest Side traffic stop.

Mello Buckzz caught a felony weapons charge after Chicago police pulled her over on the Southwest Side and found a loaded stolen handgun stashed beneath her driver’s seat.

The June 15 traffic stop turned into a custody hold that’s got people connecting the dots back to last year’s tragedy at her album release party.

Officers spotted her black Mercedes rolling down West 19th Street with an illegally tinted windshield around 7 a.m., and when they pulled her over near Rockwell Street.

While she was reaching for her license, cops said they spotted suspected marijuana in her purse and an open bottle of Tito’s Vodka sitting on the passenger side floorboard.

She refused to exit the vehicle for fifteen minutes straight, forcing a supervising sergeant to step in and order her out of the car.

That’s when they saw it. The barrel of a handgun protruding from underneath the driver’s seat.

Police recovered a loaded Glock 43X with a round already in the chamber, plus additional ammunition in the magazine.

Records showed the gun had been reported stolen out of Bedford Park, and Mello Buckzz didn’t have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card or concealed carry license.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, she was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of resisting arrest, driving with an obstructed windshield, and transporting an open container of alcohol.

The charges land almost exactly a year after the mass shooting outside her HollyHOOD The Mixtape listening party at Artis Restaurant and Lounge in River North on July 3, 2025.

That night, a dark-colored vehicle pulled up and opened fire into a crowd of people celebrating her music, killing four and wounding fourteen others.

Most of the victims were women who’d come out to support her.

Mello Buckzz publicly mourned them, calling the attack senseless and pledging to honor those lost and support those still healing from their injuries.

No arrests have been made in that shooting, and the case remains open.

Now, Mello Buckzz is facing her own legal troubles and she’s been ordered to remain in custody pending her court proceedings.
