NBA YoungBoy Not Guilty In L.A. Gun Trial

NBA not guilty.

After three days on trial, rapper YoungBoy Never Broke again was found not guilty Friday (Jul. 15) for his federal gun case in Los Angeles. He was facing up to 10 years in prison, reported The L.A. Times.

The 22-year-old rapper, born Kentrell Gaulden, was charged with felony gun possession after authorities recovered a .45 caliber pistol from the floor of his Mercedes Maybach when he was arrested in Los Angeles on March 2021. The arrest, which he led FBI on a short chase on foot at the time, stemmed from his outstanding felony gun possession warrant out of Louisiana.

The verdict came after the defense attorney’s closing arguments which reiterated that his client was unaware of the firearm in the vehicle at the time and that other occupants had access to the vehicle. He also stated that the prosecutor’s failed to link his client’s DNA to the firearm and that no witnesses testified they ever saw NBA in possession of the firearm.

The Baton Rouge native, who has been on house arrest since last October, now faces a trial in Louisiana for his firearm and drug charges in Baton Rouge from September 2020.
