NY Drill Rapper Kay Flock Gives Update From Jail Amid Murder Charge: 'All Is Good'

Harlem, NY – Aspiring New York Drill rapper Kay Flock, real name Kevin Perez, took to Instagram to give his followers an update on his current legal situation after he was arrested for the murder of a barbershop customer in Harlem last December.

As originally reported by The Daily News, 18-year-old Flock was taken into custody on December 23 for allegedly killing Oscar Hernandez, who had been waiting to get his haircut on the morning of December 16. Police claimed Flock walked by the open door and asked what Hernandez was looking at before they got into an argument. The argument escalated outside of the barbershop and Hernandez was ultimately shot in the neck, dying from his wounds. Hernandez’s family claimed his killing was a case of “mistaken identity.”

Either way, police said the shooting was gang-related, considering Kay Flock is affiliated with the Bronx-based Thirdside Gang, but on Wednesday (March 23) the Harlem lyricist told his followers to not believe what was being reported.

“All good don’t believe the blogs or the internet, everything trendy, forever DOA,” he wrote alongside a photo of him in a pink hoodie.

Flock also posted a boomerang to Instagram showing the outside of a local New York City correctional facility, which may imply he’s in the process of getting released.

Kay Flock was starting to gain some serious traction in the rap world before he was arrested. Last October he linked with Lil Tjay and Fivio Foreign for the “Not In The Mood” video. Before that, Flock had dropped two solo videos titled “Is Ya Ready” and “PSA,” both of which have 22 million and 14 million views, respectively.
