Las Vegas, NV – PnB Rock’s murder investigation has made yet another development as a third suspect has been arrested.
The Los Angeles Police Department said 40-year-old Freddie Lee Trone was taken into custody in Las Vegas on Thursday (September 29) at around 1 p.m. by a FBI-led fugitive task force for his involvement in the rapper’s shooting death, Associated Press reports.
Trone has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.
Freddie Lee Trone’s 17-year-old son, who hasn’t been identified due to being a juvenile, was arrested in Lawndale, California on Tuesday (September 27). Facing the same charges as his father, the currently jailed teen made an initial appearance in juvenile court and was told to return in October.
His stepmother and Freddie’s wife, 38-year-old Shauntel Trone, was also arrested on Tuesday in Gardena, California and charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to the killing. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Thursday.
As for Freddie, it’s unclear when he’ll appear in court for an extradition hearing or whether any of the defendants have retained attorneys.
PnB Rock — real name Rakim Allen — was shot and killed at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles on September 12.
The LAPD says PnB Rock was eating with his girlfriend when a suspect entered the restaurant on the 100 block of West Manchester Avenue. He reportedly shot the rapper and removed some of his property while demanding items from his girlfriend, before fleeing the location in an awaiting vehicle.
TMZ reported the father-son duo were already in the parking lot of the restaurant when PnB Rock arrived. Freddie Lee Trone is accused of being the getaway driver and his son being the killer.
