Pusha T Remains With G.O.O.D. Music Despite Cryptic Kanye West Contract Post

Pusha T has been signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label for over a decade, and that’a not changing going forward. King Push interestingly took to Instagram on Thursday (January 27) posting paperwork from the execution of a recording contract with Def Jam and thanking Kanye West in the caption.

“Some people call you their brother, other people show you you’re BROTHERS. Thanx ‘Yezos…’ @kanyewest,” Pusha wrote, handing Kanye a new nickname inspired by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The portions of the contract shared by Pusha T don’t make it clear what the deal means exactly, but that hasn’t slowed down the rumor mill. Complex spoke with Victor Victor Worldwide CEO Steven Victor who clarified Pusha is still with G.O.O.D. Music but his upcoming album will fulfill his Def Jam contract.

“[He’s still with] G.O.O.D. Music, he’s just not signed to Def Jam anymore,” Victor said. “This is is his last album on Def Jam.”

Either way, the transaction drew heavy praise in the comment section from some of Pusha’s heavyweight Hip Hop compatriots such as Jadakiss, The Game and Royce Da 5’9.

“A win is a win,” Kiss wrote while Game added. “As It’s Supposed to be!”

According to Victor, Push isn’t ruling out a Def Jam reunion in the future either, but his loyalty remains to Kanye.

“I mean, we might re-sign with Def Jam, I’m just saying he fulfilled his contract obligation,” he said. “He might re-sign with Def Jam, it’s just the whole point of it is that he’s still with Kanye regardless to wherever he ends up with his next projects. It will be with Kanye.”

“It might be with Def Jam, it might be with somebody else,” Victor—who previously spoke with Complex for a separate interview bout the upcoming NIGO album and more—said of a potential next deal. “But he’s fulfilled his contract with Def Jam.”

Pusha T season looks to be returning very soon as he declared his DAYTONA follow-up — rumored to be titled It’s Not Dry Yet — will be “the motherfucking album of the year” in an interview with Complex earlier this week.

In Pusha T fashion, King Push set the project’s rollout in motion by posting a photo of singer Lana Del Rey with a mound of cocaine covering her face. He’s also teased snippets of coke-laced rhymes and been seen locking in the studio with the likes of Kanye West, Fivio Foreign and more.

Pusha T’s team did not immediately return HipHopDX‘s request for comment.
