Snoop Dogg Captures Last Moments With Uncle Before His Death: 'Glad I Gotta Make [Him] Smile'

Death is never an easy pill to swallow, and that’s why so many who experience it cherish the last moments with their loved ones when that time comes. Snoop Dogg suffered the loss of another close family member when his uncle Willie passed away this week.

Remembering one of the last times he got to see him in the hospital, the Doggfather took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 13) to share footage of his recent visit.

In one clip, fans can see Snoop entering his uncle’s room, who seemed happy to see his nephew. The two caught up on lost time, with the West Coast rap legend showing how delighted he was to hear his uncle was turning 91 years old.

“Life is precious glad I gotta chance to make my uncle willie j smile one more time b4 going up beyond earth rest,” Snoop captioned the video. “Well unk. Say hi to grandmama and my mama. thank. U for being. U.”

Snoop closed out the visit by meeting the nurses who were taking care of his uncle and posed for pictures with them. He also got a few shots in with his uncle, who couldn’t stop smiling.

Snoop Dogg’s uncle passing away comes less than a year after his mother, Beverly Tate, died after battling an undisclosed illness. The rapper paid tribute to his mom by posting pictures of them in happier times on Instagram.

“Thank u god for giving me an angel for a mother,” he wrote in the caption. “TWMA [Til we meet again].”
