T-Pain is readying a new album full of covers set to arrive next month and he’s pushing his signature AutoTuned vocals to the side to showcase his natural singing voice.

On Wednesday (February 15), the Florida native announced a seven-song project fittingly titled On Top of the Covers which drops on March 17.

T-Pain looks to surprise fans with a versatile array of covers ranging from Sam Cooke, Sam Smith and Journey to Chris Stapleton and Black Sabbath. He’s also inviting his Nappy Boy label signee NandoSTL to duet with him on a cover of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life.”

“You’ve been asking for it and here ya go bro,” he wrote. “A T-Pain cover album to end all cover albums…..from T-Pain. ‘On Top Of The Covers’ dropping March 17th alongside an intimate set of shows. More on that later tho … so stay tuned for more updates.”

The covers project has been years in the making, dating back to when T-Pain won The Masked Singer in early 2019 where he covered songs from the likes of Montell Jordan, Joan Jett, and Sam Smith.

T-Pain is also delivering a pair of live shows to accompany On Top of the Covers with an intimate two-night special performance at The Sun Rose in Los Angeles on March 17 and March 18. Tickets will be released on his website on Friday (February 17).

Meanwhile, T-Pain recently revealed that his notorious “Big Ass Chain” cost him $400,000 and is one of his biggest regrets.

He made the egriogious purchase for the bedazzled chain from the famous Atlanta-based jeweler Icebox in 2009. According to Hatton-Jewellers, the hefty “Big Ass Chain” weighs over 10 pounds and is made from yellow and white gold while boasting a robust 197 carats of diamonds.
