Take A Look Inside Prince’s “Purple Rain” Airbnb

Dearly beloved, gather around to hear about this once-in-a-lifetime chance to live like Prince and The Kid in a custom Purple Rain palace, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the late superstar’s classic film.

Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, known mononymously as Wendy & Lisa—in partnership with his estate, Airbnb, Paisley Park Enterprises, LLC and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products—are inviting guests to experience an one-night stay in Minneapolis at the iconic Purple Rain house for 25 nights. Starting on Oct. 26 and running until Dec. 14, the home can host up to four guests. It’s priced at just $7 per person – which was Prince’s favorite number.

“We were lucky enough to be a part of the music scene in Minneapolis during such a pivotal era for rock music, playing with Prince in one of the most successful bands of our generation and starring alongside him in the Purple Rain film,” said Wendy & Lisa in a statement. “The Purple Rain house stands as a tribute to our dear friend Prince, the timeless character he brought to life, and the lasting impact he continues to have. We hope the space gives fans a glimpse into the eclectic world Prince created, and visitors walk away feeling a little bit closer to him as an artist and person.”

Guests can lounge on the purple velvet couch, dress up like an ’80s rockstar, test their musical skills in the muse lounge, or get pampered in the claw-foot tub with lavender bath bombs. The best part, per the hosts, is the secret room that can only be accessed with clues found within the faux vinyl album collection. Separately, as guests explore, they can scan QR codes around the home for personal commentary and insight.

Ali Killam, an Airbnb spokesperson, added, “And then what guests will be able to do themselves is actually play around with a selection of really iconic ‘80s outfits and looks and styles that they can kind of engage their inner rockstar themselves. It really is meant to immerse you in The Kid’s world.”

Those interested can book starting on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 a.m. PT until Oct. 6 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Guests will book travel at their own expense.
