T.I. Defends Kevin Samuels From 'Bullies' Following Dating Guru's Death

Controversial dating guru Kevin Samuels passed away last Thursday (May 5), and people have been split in their reactions to his death. Some have mourned his death, while others have been less willing to offer their condolences due to his often polarizing takes on women and dating.

On Saturday (May 7), T.I. took to Instagram to address the some of the reactions to Kevin Samuels’ death, especially those that have been “bullying” the dating coach. In his 14-minute long video, the Atlanta rap legend called Samuels a “guru” and said he can’t stand people “bullying a deadman.” He also used his expansive vocabulary to call people dissing the YouTube star a “fucking travesty of justice.”

“I can’t stand it,” Tip said. “I ain’t gon’ let y’all bully this dead man. We gon’ let this man rest in peace. Whatever he did, he did it and [he’s] gone. He got away with it. Fuck ya. That’s between him and God. Him and the Lord gon’ have to deal with it. You ain’t got no heaven or hell to put him in. So, I wanna see who the fuck wanna say something [to] me while I’m still alive.”

T.I.‘s comments came shortly after he and other members of the Hip Hop community posted Instagram tributes to Kevin Samuels, who was 57 years old when he passed away. The Atlanta rapper saluted Samuels for “speaking [his] truth on behalf of the unnoticed.”

“Rest Well Big Dog,” he wrote next to a photoshopped picture of Samuels at Heaven’s Gates. “May God be pleased with & accept your service brother. Speaking your truth on behalf of the unnoticed was truly a thankless task. I’m thankful for the times we’ve had an opportunity to celebrate success & exchange philosophy together. Love and Respect King.”

Samuels was found unresponsive in his Atlanta apartment on May 5 and first responders began performing CPR on him upon arrival. A woman inside the apartment said Samuels complained of chest pains and she attempted to help him, but he fell.

He was transported to Piedmont Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An official cause of death has yet to be determined.
